“It is well known that Vrančić’s works in Croatian, the famous Dictionarivm of qvinqve nobilissimarvm Evropae lingvari, Latinae, Italicae, Germanicae, Dalmatiae et Vngaricae from 1595, and the hagiographic work Život nikoliko izabranih divic from 1606, have been a constant philological research object since the second half of the 19th century. For example, a review of those researches by Josip Lisac (2004: 17-21) is a good evidence of that. Among the philologists, the undoubtedly important place belongs to Valentin Putanac, who among others wrote about the names of months in Vrančić’s dictionary. This is a very interesting topic in the context of Croatian dialectology and lexicology in general, so we return to it in this occasion again.”
